Module-5 Food Walk

                                           MODULE-5

                                         FOOD WALK

 Introduction:

The fifth module of the Social Connect and Responsibility subject of the 3rd semester Engineering course conducted by the CSE department of Proudhadevaraya Institute of Technology is the Food Walk. In this program, all the students prepared food and learned about the importance of food by serving all the students and teachers.

A food walk is a guided experience where you can taste the specialties of local food establishments and learn about their culture and history. A food walk usually involves a group of people and a local expert who leads them through a locality. A food walk can take place at different times and locations, and portion sizes may vary.

Importance of Food:

Food is essential for our survival and well-being. It provides us with the necessary nutrients, vitamins, and minerals to keep our bodies healthy and functioning properly. A healthy and balanced diet is crucial for maintaining good health and preventing chronic diseases. However, food is not just important for our physical health but also for our social and emotional well-being.

Sprouts contain a high content of enzymes that help break down the food effectively and enhance the absorption of nutrients by the digestive tract. The fibre content of the sprouts bulks up the stool, making it easier to pass through the digestive tracts.
Sprouts are nutrient-rich and should be added to our daily diet because of their many benefits. Here is a delicious sprouts curry you can make for a quick and healthy meal.

Learn to cook different types of breads like parotta, roti, vegetable dishes, daal Brinjal curry, halwa, kheer, pakora, samosa, pulaav and a few more…
What's a food walk, you ask? Food walks form an integral part of culinary tourism across the world today. It's a fun concept to take part in if you are a food lover and are interested in understanding people and their lives through the lens of food, while munching your way through some delicious treats. During a food walk, you usually go out with a group of people, led by a local expert who is a food lover too. You walk down a locality and try to get under its skin through its food. You don't always have to 'walk' though. There could be variations.

CONCLUSION:

The Food Walk module was an excellent opportunity for the students and teachers of PDIT to learn about the importance of food and the different practices involved in preparing it. It provided an opportunity for the students to showcase their culinary skills and learn about the different tastes and preferences of their peers. It also helped in promoting social and emotional well-being and cultural diversity.
